Our older participants, on the other hand, only showed a trend of shorter suppression times for direct gaze stimuli (3,775 ms ± 207 vs. 3,900 ms ± 213, Mean ±SEM); suppression times across conditions were not significantly different (t(18) = 1.17, p = 0.25, CI = [−98.3, 347.9], paired-t-test, Bayes factor bf10 = 0.43).
