Although there was no correlation between protein levels and participants’ age, overall plasma protein levels were higher in samples from primigravida (first-time pregnant) women when compared with multigravida women (who have had 2–5 pregnancies), although the difference did not reach statistical significance ( Supplementary Table S2 ).
