We also observed the presence of cellular debris in the lumen of the nasal cavity, mainly in the ventral part of the anterior zone surrounding the respiratory epithelium (Figure 4 ), and to a significantly lower extent for BA.1 infection than for D614G at 8 dpi and nearly significant at 2 dpi (Figure 3B ).
