Although immune score analysis did not reach statistical significance at 6 h ( p = 0.07) or 24 h ( p = 0.05; Fig. 3 E), these results suggest that dysregulation of the immune system, which is tightly regulated by E2 for maintaining uterine receptivity [ 56 – 60 ], contributes to the infertility observed in Egr1 KO uteri.
