In sensitivity analyses, after categorizing VIM values into tertile groups, a negative association between RHRV and global cognitive function in the HRS (β = −0.042 [95% CI, − 0.085 to 0.002], and in the CHARLS (β = −0.017 [95% CI, − 0.077 to 0.043]), though the association did not reach statistical significance (Supplementary Table 4).
