The main findings of our analysis were: (1) the number of patients with resolution of symptoms was not significantly different between groups; (2) recovery and symptom alleviation rates showed a favorable trend in patients receiving 3CL protease inhibitors compared to placebo; (3) 3CL protease inhibitors significantly reduced the viral load from baseline as compared with placebo and (4) were associated with higher risk of any adverse events (40.24% vs. 31.26%).
