Among leaf morphological traits, we saw a significant trend for smaller, more dense stomata under drought conditions along with reductions in SLA, leaf perimeter, and abaxial contact angle, reflecting constraints on growth, and whether the plasticity is adaptive remains a question for future work (Figs 2 , 3 ).
