NKG2D, which promotes the production of cytolytic molecules and inflammatory cytokines 41 , ADP-ribosylation factor-like 8b (ARL8B), a protein required for lytic granule polarization and formation of the microtubule organizing centre 42 and activating transcription factor STAT5b 43 also trended to increase in palm oil-HFD NK cells compared to butter-HFD, although these did not reach statistical significance (Extended Data Fig. 4c–e ).
