Even with the short duration of Ramadan fasting, our review showed a statistically significant reduction in HbA1c (−0.4%); however, other metabolic outcomes, such as changes in FPG and HOMA‐IR, did not reach statistical significance, presumably due to the small sample sizes of the studies included.
