The threshold current of the isolated rat heart did not change significantly at a potassium ion concentration of 3.5 mM, 3.0 mM, or 2.5 mM, and there was a clear trend of an increasing threshold current when the potassium ion concentration was reduced to 2.0 mM, although the difference was not significantly different.
