Although no statistical differences were observed at 72 and 120 h, our data showed a trend toward reduced trypomastigote release into the supernatant, suggesting a direct action of these compounds on the parasite that may compromise its ability to differentiate, lyse the host, infect new cells, and spread throughout the organism.
