However, immunofluorescence analysis using anti–myelin basic protein antibody (marking myelin debris) showed a trend toward reduced myelin debris in the treatment group compared with the control group (Figs. 5 – 7 ), suggesting that hyperbaric oxygen conditions may enhance the clearance of cell debris, a critical step in peripheral nerve regeneration. 32 On POD 35, the treatment group exhibited a greater number of general nerve fibers in both the middle and distal segments, comparable to the numbers in the proximal segments.
