Meta-analyses of these RCTs revealed that high-intensity stimulation was more likely to achieve a reduction in seizure frequency than low-intensity stimulation in adults (>50% seizure reduction: P = 0.01, OR = 1.95 [1.16–3.27]); in pediatric patients, but this effect did not reach statistical significance in pediatric cohorts ( P = 0.73, OR = 0.75 [0.14–3.90]) [ 12 , 13 ].
