While in our study the overall difference in CHF incidence between the deferred and regularly treated patients on the actual intervention date did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.078), our finding that one-third of the deferred patients experienced clinical progressive CHF indicates a considerable risk of CHF progression during the waiting time.
