3 Semaglutide treatment significantly reduced the risk of MACE‐3 (non‐fatal myocardial infarction, non‐fatal stroke, cardiovascular death) by 20% compared with placebo (hazard ratio: 0.80, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.72 to 0.90; p < 0.001), with nominally significant reductions in heart failure outcomes and all‐cause mortality. 3 The results of this trial have increased interest in obesity management medications in the cardiovascular and other scientific communities.
