Although there was no statistically significant trend in the change of the absolute disparities in all-cause mortality between Black and White patients during 2000–2019, a significant trend in the change of relative disparities was found, highlighting the methodological importance of reporting both absolute and relative measures of disparities to provide a clear picture of health disparity change across races.
