Although our results seem counterintuitive since spinal cord atrophy is expected especially in those patients having spinal cord lesions, it is noteworthy that previous studies performed in adult MS already showed a trend toward or a significant cord volume increase in clinically isolated syndrome [ 2 ] or RRMS [ 8 ] patients compared to HC.
