In this group, bivalirudin treatment significantly reduced the 30-day incidence of BARC types 3 to 5 bleeding (0.2% vs 0.8%, P = .004) and stent thrombosis (0.4% vs 1.0%, P = .01) compared with heparin alone, although the reductions in the rates of death and thus the primary end point that was present in the entire BRIGHT-4 population with bivalirudin compared with heparin alone 18 did not reach statistical significance in this subgroup.
