Nowadays, there is a significant trend to use anti-inflammatory agents in ALI as pharmacological interventions since inhibiting excessive inflammation may allow less delivery of injurious mechanical ventilation [ 5 ], which may exacerbate lung injuries in experimental settings, enhancing inflammation and edema [ 6 ].
