In the supine body position, this change of the cross-sectional area of the FV has been demonstrated to be quite significant, at the level of 40%–80%.[ 1 , 2 , 3 ] By contrast, in this study, we found that in the upright body position, this change in the cross-sectional area of the veins in the groin was quite small.
