However, there was a significant trend towards a higher NIHSS at discharge in stroke cases, possibly explained by the residual structural damage, which was not present in the remaining aetiologies, save tumours (NIHSS 0 on discharge in all patients, possible transient aphasia in context of oedema or undiagnosed epileptic seizure). 4.4 CT Perfusion Regarding the usefulness of CTP, several studies have assessed its usefulness in differentiating “stroke mimics” [ 6 , 10 , 11 , 12 ], especially in epileptic seizures.
