Despite concerns raised in 2021 by Raza et al, 19 there is still no formal requirement for orthopaedic surgeons to undertake IR training, although this is compulsory for other specialties, and disappointingly in our study a significantly higher proportion of surgeons had received no training compared to those surveyed in 2021: a negative trend.
