A 2017 study comparing the agreement and accuracy of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and National Institute of Clinical Excellence CTG interpretation guidelines 22 reported that the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and National Institute of Clinical Excellence guidelines showed a trend toward higher sensitivities in the prediction of newborn acidemia (89% and 97%, respectively) than the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists guideline (32%), but the latter achieved a significantly higher specificity (95%).
