In the subgroup of patients with stage IA disease and tumors <2 cm ( Figures 1 B, 1 C), there was a trend toward an increased incidence of recurrence in patients with STAS-positive tumors who underwent sublobar resection (n = 9) compared with lobectomy (n = 44), although this did not reach statistical significance and was not associated with margin distance ( Supplemental Figure 2 ).
