Regarding acromegaly, in a study comparing individuals with growth hormone excess to healthy controls ( n = 8 per group), people with acromegaly had higher mean glucose levels and the percentage of time for blood glucose levels ≥7.8 mmol/L, as well as higher glycaemic variability, although the latter did not reach statistical significance, compared to the control group [ 95 ].
