We therefore conclude that crop failure regularity is shifting from a pre-industrial distribution to a transition phase with declining 10–13 years dominant periods and subsequently to a warming future where the superlinear climate forcing is characterized by both irregularity and a strong trend with suppressed natural regularity signals.
