showed a trendP = 0.08
In a study of HIV infected women, vaginal lavages with a pH < 4.5 showed a trend to contain less cultivatable HIV virus than lavages with a pH ≥ 4.5 (P = 0.08) when tested with the multinuclear-activation galactosidase indicator (MAGI) assay [ 52 ] possibly indicating a reduction in HIV load and a reduction in risk of transmission at lower pH values.
