Although the genotype distribution did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.073), the G allele was significantly more frequent in cases (59.7%) than in controls (37.5%) ( p = 0.017), conferring a reduced odds of disease for the A allele (OR = 0.41, 95% CI: 0.19–0.86).
