Among cortisol responders (AIC: 1269.1, df: 239), we found a significant and positive stress condition × sample number interaction ( β = 0.80, CI 95 = [0.41, 1.18], β * = 0.19, p < 0.001), whilst the remaining variables, including the main stress ( β = −0.65, CI 95 = [−1.93, 0.62], β * = 0.30, p = 0.314) and time ( β = −0.10, CI 95 = [−0.37, 0.17], β * = 0.15, p = 0.477) variables, all failed to reach significance.
