With this tighter range of comparative control soil values, a clear trend of gravesoil enrichment for δ 15 N appeared almost immediately after cadavers were allowed to decompose, reaching more than 20‰ between 20 and 30 d of decomposition for surface gravesoils, and ~16‰ for the 2.5 cm depth soils around day 60.
