Although the differences in sialic acid concentration in brain tissue samples between compared groups of experimental animals did not reach statistical significance, the results indicated that a lower amount of gangliosides is sex-related, i.e., a feature of both control and TLR2D female mice when compared with control and TLR2D male mice (Supplementary Fig. 2C).
