Figure a shows the evolution of the normalized absorbance at 918 cm –1 due to ReO 4 – stretching as a function of time under the flow of 0.5 mM ammonium perrhenate solutions of pH 3.0 nitric acid at different flow rates. There is a clear trend that the time taken for the normalized absorbance to reach its equilibrium value of 1 is shorter at higher flow rates.
