Because the clay mineral content in the other areas is locally quite significant, it is designated as a distinct argillaceous zone on the alteration map, where oxidized pyrite (Fig. 12 f) and iron oxide-hydroxides are prevalent; copper minerals are scarce in this alteration zone.
