Further analysis revealed that although a specifically measured CRP on postoperative day 3 showed a high hazard ratio for prognostic assessment, suggesting a potential strong clinical association, the pooled results did not reach statistical significance [HR (95% CI): 1.88 (0.87–4.07), P > 0.05] (Fig. 2 D).
