Although our study has sample size limitations, we cautiously speculate that there is a strong trend towards alterations in processes such as energy metabolism, ribosomal protein translation, redox homeostasis, and cell survival/cell death in the brainstem of HETs, which is corroborated by our transcriptomic and metabolomic data.
