Handwashing practices revealed that 81.1 % (146/180) of women using alternative cleaning agents (ash, soil, or water alone) were infected, compared to 100 % (8/8) of those reporting soap use, though this difference did not reach statistical significance (χ 2 = 1.845, p = 0.174).
