Assessment of cardiomyocyte short-axis diameter also showed a trend similar to capillary density: cardiomyocytes in a healthy heart were, as expected, the smallest in size (15.74 ± 0.08 μm), while LV muscles treated with BMNC-Mφ (17.2 ± 0.18 μm) and PBS (19.45 ± 0.46 μm), showed mild to moderate hypertrophy, respectively ( Fig. 4 h–j).
