Although the association between Q4 and cardiovascular mortality did not reach statistical significance (HR = 1.51, 95% CI: 0.98–2.31, P = 0.059), it approached the significance threshold and there was a significant dose-response trend ( P -trend = 0.008), suggesting that an elevated CTI may still be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality.
