A population-based study from Olmsted County (USA) (345 cases and 345 controls) found that, compared to individuals with normal/low BMI, obesity (BMI > 30 kg/m 2 ) was associated with an OR of 2.54 (95% CI: 1.58–4.06), while overweight (BMI 25–29.9 kg/m 2 ) did not reach statistical significance (OR 1.12; 95% CI: 0.72–1.75).
