The CCHVI method does not include a composite score and among their variables, the correlation is moderately significant and negative for the excess emergency room visit rate and tree canopy coverage (r s = −0.31 , p < 0.05 ), projected number of extreme heat days (r s = −0.3 , p < 0.01 ), and percent population without health insurance (r s = −0.28 , p < 0.05 ) as is also reflected in Factor 5 of SoVI ® (r s = −0.38 , p < 0.01 ) ( Table 1 ).
