This finding is probably quite significant, since achieving PCPC samples with both high molecular weights and monomodal distributions requires extensive monomer purification and/or noninitiating catalysts, , thus tolerance to bimodality may simplify the process and broaden the catalyst choice, as long as the overall target M n is met.
