In the case of having higher grip strength, the odds ratios for having prediabetes (vs normal glucose tolerance OR = 0.990, 95%CI: 0.981–0.999, P = 0.041) or diabetes (vs normal glucose tolerance OR = 0.959, 95%CI: 0.949–0.968, P < 0.001 vs prediabetes OR = 0.968, 95%CI: 0.957–0.979, P < 0.001), taking age, BMI, smoking, drinking, physical activity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and eGFR as covariables, were significantly smaller in males but did not reach statistical significance in females (Table 3: ).
