One reported that periodontal disease significantly increased AMI risk (OR = 2.02, 95% CI = 1.59–2.57), with significant associations observed in cross-sectional (OR = 1.71, 95% CI = 1.07–2.73) and case–control studies (OR = 2.93, 95% CI = 1.95–4.39), but only marginally significant in cohort studies (OR = 1.18, 95% CI = 0.98–1.42) [19].
