Although differences in the frequency of thrombocytopenia between pediatric and adult patients at our center did not reach statistical significance, trends suggest a potentially greater risk in adult patients (18%; 95% CI: 7%–40%) compared to pediatric patients under 18 years (10%; 95% CI: 3%–30%).
