Interestingly, men in the first quartile of vitamin C intake had an adjusted mean difference in change of physical function score of -2.55 (95% CI= -4.62, -0.48) compared with men with a high intake (4th quartile), and there was a significant trend across the four quartiles (p-trend=0.005).
