Among the 68 patients who had a positive Aspergillus culture result at time of VAPA diagnosis, mortality was numerically higher in those patients who remained culture-positive or who reverted to culture-positivity after a negative culture result ( p = 0.14), although this association did not reach statistical significance, likely due to the smaller sample size in this subgroup analysis (Supplementary Table 3).
