However, in the subgroup of patients with a baseline HbA1c ≥8.5%, empagliflozin 25 mg showed numerically greater reductions in HbA1c compared to empagliflozin 10 mg at both week 24 (empagliflozin 25 mg −1.5% ± 0.3%, empagliflozin 10 mg −1.1% ± 0.3%) and week 52 (empagliflozin 25 mg −1.6% ± 0.4%, empagliflozin 10 mg −0.8% ± 0.5%), although these differences did not reach statistical significance (Supplementary Figure 2 ).
