Among the individual taxa that had a mean relative abundance >1% across all samples (Figure S3 ), there were only a handful of taxa for which there was a borderline significant change in abundance between admission and discharge, including Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron (increase, p = 0.07), Bacteroides uniformis (increase, p = 0.2), Bacteroides heparinolyticus (increase, p = 0.2), and Bacteroides dorei (decrease, p = 0.2).
