Specifically, in the R-cultivars, the treatment groups presented a greater incidence of AS events than did the control, whereas in the S-cultivars, the opposite trend was observed, however, this difference did not reach statistical significance (Wilcoxon test, p = 0.125).This difference was in accordance with the fact that the average number of detected transcripts was slightly lower in the S-cultivars than the R-cultivars (Fig. 1 ; Table S2).
