More importantly, large differences are also present in the likely apatite saturated felsic compositions: in contrast to our thermometer, HW84 temperatures show significant scatter but do not define a clear trend of decreasing temperature with differentiation, resulting in dacite temperatures that are likely underestimated and rhyolite temperatures that are almost certainly overestimated.
